Cyclists steer through the Amwell Valley towards a world free of multiple sclerosis

The New Jersey Metro Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Society is excited to host the Bike MS: Barrels and Brews 2015 ride, formerly known as Bike MS: Hops to Hops, at Unionville Vineyards on Sunday, Sept. 13. Unionville Vineyards, 9 Rocktown Road, Ringoes, is one of the East Coast's finest wineries and provides the perfect location for start and finish line celebrations.

Cyclists will be cheered across the finish line by volunteers and provided with an exclusive Bike MS medal. Cyclists and spectators are also invited to join the chapter for a finish-line celebration at Unionville Vineyards for a catered lunch, wine and beer tastings, music, and massages.

Bike MS: Barrels and Brews is a fully supported ride, offering clearly marked routes, rest stops stocked with snacks and water every 10-13 miles, and full medical and mechanical support on the route. This family-friendly event is perfect for cyclists of all skill levels. Cyclists can commit to riding 40 or 62 miles — all for a world free of multiple sclerosis.

Multiple sclerosis, an unpredictable, often disabling disease of the central nervous system, interrupts the flow of information within the brain, and between the brain and body. There is no known cause or cure for MS. Funds raised through Bike MS directly benefit cutting-edge MS research as well as programs and services that help more than 10,000 people with MS and their families in northern and central Jersey.

For Sandie Reilly, who was diagnosed with MS in 1987 and is serving as the chapter's 2015 Bike MS Ambassador, the society's services are critical for anyone affected by MS. Sandie will be riding as a volunteer ride marshal in the Bike MS fall cycling series.

The MS Society's Bike MS program is the largest organized cycling series in the country. The chapter invites you to join the movement and participate in this unforgettable experience as a cyclist, spectator, or volunteer. Bike MS is perfect for individuals, organizations and corporations.
