Q&A With Alicia Sloan From the VA MSC Center of Excellence West: Yoga Shows Benefits for Patients with Multiple Sclerosis: VIDEO

When it comes to stretching and exercise one of the most common options for many people is yoga. While there are some considerations to work with, some studies have shown it can also be beneficial for patients with multiple sclerosis.

Alicia P. Sloan, MPH, MSW, LICSW, from the VA MSC Center of Excellence West in Seattle discussed how the VA is using yoga for these patients during the Consortium of Multiple Sclerosis Center's Annual Meeting in Indianapolis. Sloan said the program has been successful not only with this patient group but also with other conditions such as post traumatic stress disorder.
