Biogen and SELF Join Together to Help Women With Relapsing Multiple Sclerosis Re-imagine Daily Life

Biogen, a global biotechnology company with over 30 years of clinical excellence in Multiple Sclerosis (MS) research, has recently announced the launch of Reimagine MySelf, a blog dedicated to helping women navigate their daily lives while also dealing with the complications that come with a diagnosis of relapsing MS (RMS).  The blog is a product of a partnership between Biogen and SELF magazine, and will feature editorial content from medical experts, exercise trainers, interior designers, as well as celebrity contributors, all offering their best practical advice on not just coping with RMS but living a fulfilled and inspired life.

One of the celebrity contributors will be Jeannie Mai, style expert and co-host of the daytime talk show “The Real,” who will provide DIY style and beauty tips inspired by her Aunt Linh who is living with RMS.

In a press release about the launch, Mrs. Mai, stated, “When my Aunt Linh was diagnosed with RMS, I witnessed firsthand how her diagnosis affected her as she faced the uncertainty of what her future may hold. Not only does she have to deal with some difficult symptoms — which can come and go without warning — she also has seen the impact this disease has on everyday activities like her beauty routine and wardrobe choices.”

Mrs. Mai’s excitement is shared by Mary Murcko, SELF’s Publisher, “SELF is thrilled to partner with Biogen to launch the Reimagine MySelf destination on SELF.com. This first-of-its-kind program on SELF.com taps SELF’s empowering voice in women’s health and wellness, and leverages our SELF Made Blogger Collective along with RMS experts to create a destination that women living with RMS can turn to for advice.”

Self plans to regularly refresh the content on Reimagine MySelf throughout the month of September with popular content that aims to help make everyday life with RMS just a little easier, such as:

  • Packing for a trip
  • Planning a dinner party
  • Organizing your closet
  • Finding the best ways to exercise at home

There will also be articles that feature personal stories from women with RMS who are taking Biogen therapy, with insights into the difference the treatment is making for them on a daily basis.

Details about the program will be featured in the September issue of SELF.
