Classic Seven Layer Cookie Bars

November 5, 2014 by Kimberly [BLOG owner]

Seven Layer Cookie Bars {aka Magic Bars} have been around forever and there’s a reason for that. Not only are they easy to make but they’re absolutely delicious. When you combine graham cracker crust with butterscotch chips, chocolate chips, sweetened coconut, and nuts…something magical happens. All the flavors melt together in the oven to form a tasty delight.

Ingredients

1 1/2 cup graham cracker crumbs
1/2 cup butter (melted)
1 can sweetened condensed milk (14 oz size)
1 cup butterscotch chips
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 1/3 cup sweetened coconut flakes (can substitute unsweetened coconut flakes)
1 cup chopped nuts (use your favorite; can also omit)
no stick cooking spray
Directions

Step 1
HEAT oven to 350°F. Spray 13 x 9-inch baking pan with no-stick cooking spray.
Step 2
In a large bowl, combine the graham cracker crumbs and melted butter- mixing well with a spoon. Press the crumb mixture firmly into bottom of baking pan.
Step 3
Layer the pan evenly with remaining ingredients.
Step 4
Pour the sweetened condensed milk evenly over your layers. Lightly press down with a metal spatula or fork.
Step 5
Bake 25 to 30 minutes or until lightly browned.
Step 6
Remove and cool for at least an hour. Cut into bars.
Step 7
Bars can be refrigerated or frozen.

See, I told you they were easy to make! These cookie bars are a perfect treat for your family, to give as gifts, or to take to a holiday party.
